Vinod K. Shah-Emeritus

Dr. Vinod K. Shah is the Managing Director of MedStar Shah Medical Group and MedStar Shah MSO, LLC and a distinguished physician who has devoted his life to improving the health and well-being of his patients. As a Board-Certified Internist and Board-Certified Cardiologist, Dr. Shah has gained extensive experience and knowledge in the field of medicine.

Born in India, Dr. Shah earned his medical degree from Bombay University before completing his cardiology training at Georgetown Hospital and VA Medical Center in the United States. After completing his training, Dr. Shah relocated to Southern Maryland 50 years ago with his wife, Dr. Ila Shah, a pediatrician, and a year later, joined by his brother, Dr. U.K. Shah, a Gastroenterologist, and together they founded Shah Associates.

As a well-known Cardiologist in Southern Maryland and Washington, D.C., Dr. Shah has become a respected member of the medical community. Throughout his career, he has worked very closely with many community organizations such as St. Mary’s Ryken High School, St. Mary’s College, and the Rotary Club of Charlotte Hall. Dr. Shah served as the president for The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) from 2009 – 2010.

Dr. Shah’s passion is to provide the best healthcare with an emphasis on the early detection and prevention of diseases. He has been committed to this goal throughout his career, and his patients have benefited greatly from his dedication and expertise. He has a holistic approach to patient care and ensures that his patients receive comprehensive care tailored to their individual needs.

In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Shah has been involved in medical research and has published several papers in prestigious medical journals. He is a sought-after speaker at national and international medical conferences.

Dr. Shah has received numerous awards and recognition for his outstanding contributions to the medical profession. Despite his busy schedule, Dr. Shah makes time for his family and enjoys spending time with them. He is an avid reader, a self-taught painter, enjoys playing golf, and is a connoisseur of Indian classical music.
